one eye on the future

Despite not offically starting at WBCC yet Rachel and I have willingly been doing a few 'bits'. It was great to meet a few more of the people. I has made me all the more want to get stuck in and get a start on things. I have already been made aware of a few things that need to be addressed so that will be fun. I get the feeling that this is going to be fun, so let us see what is going to take place.

Oh have already had contact with a local centre that is trying to help people get over substance abuse and promote healthy living so will keep you informed as to how that develops...

In Luke 21 Jesus is giving a talk about the end. Now there are various things that Jesus say's in this chapter that are quite interesting. Now I believe in studying the bible and seeking what it is that God was and is saying through it but sometimes we can get bogged down in things that we will never understand or were ever meant to understand like in trying to timetable the future events. Truth be known we don't know the time when Jesus will return (although Lukes writing seem to indicate that he was writing with the things that were to come i.e. destruction of the temple in A.D 70, it can be taken as the age to come when judgement comes also) He has given us things to look out for and keep an eye on.

But please let us not lose sight of the fact that we are called to stand and live for Jesus in the hear and now! We need to be aware of what is happening around us with focus on the age when there is no more pain, suffering, injustice etc.

Let's not worry about what will happen when but let us stay faithful to him, knowing that he has promised to give us words of wisdom (21:15).

So let us keep one eye on the future (34-36) but on eye on the here and now seeking to get in on what God is doing today!
