weird

I have just started to read John Ortberg's book 'Everybody's normal till you get to know them'. It looks like it is going to be a good read. I guess that the main gist of the opening chapter is that in fact we are all weird well at least by God's measure of things that is. We all have stuff wrong with us don't we and baggage that has messed us up in some way. We all need each other we cannot live in isolation and this means that we have to learn to live with each other faults. Ortberg uses this quote from Boenhoeffer "Whoever cannot stand being in community should be aware of being alone" (see pg 20 of Ortberg's book). Being part of the Kingdom of God is about being part of a community of believers and therefore there is no room to live for ourselves! Boenhoeffer also wrote that people who live for oneselves "plunge into the bottomless pit of vanity, self-infatuation, and despair" (see pg 21) So it looks like he is going to be talking about community and living it out - will let you know. I'm going to read it with Rachel so i will let you know how that goes! Think I'm going to enjoy it.

Over the last couple of day I have spent sometime catching up with old friends, after hecktic summers away for all of us. It is great when you can just pick up where you left off.

Thats it from me, have no thought of inspiration today :)
