Have been reading through the book of 2 Kings and was struck this morning by something, now maybe there is more to this than I'm about to say, I would have to look at it further to be sure.
My thought is this, the majority of the Kings were not good kings, but occasionally they did something great that God wanted done. Like in the case of Jehu in chapter 10. Now this guy had cunningly destroyed all the Baal worshippers broken all the stuff that went along with it! Good job, well done. But then we find this verse (31) but Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart...
The point is this, how many of us want to do big stuff for God, but actually don't get the everyday stuff right?! I ask which do you thing would God would prefer?

good question which i will now be thinking about all day
I think Jesus answers it when he says that 'be faithful in the little'...
in another place, Paul writes to the elders of the church that they should be able to manage their own families before being put in place to manage the family of God, the church...
just 2 examples here.
so the Bible would suggest getting the small things right first.
For me the 3 massive decisions after becoming a Christian were to 1.go to Bible college
2.marry Rie
3.go to Japan as a missionary
It was crucial to obey God in those to find the destiny he has for me. And I'm still looking, btway.
But all of those 'big' decisions can be totally screwed up by the little things I do. If I dont obey God in the 'little' things of marriage, it can be undone. If I dont obey God in the things that other people dont see as a missionary, my passion, anointing, calling, faith will eventually be undone.
Yeah man. The little things. I believe in the little guy who has no great skill in footie but runs like crazy and tries until the end - does the simple things and is victorious in the end! WHoA!
I think you might be right:) so otfen we want the big stuff with out the mundane! But it is in the mundane that character is built.
TaNe I will never forget the effort you put in on the footie pitch, unparalled energy. Still following the mighty Reds?
